Wise Investment's Berkshire branch to become own company

Written by Admin, 30 May 2014

Wise Investment is delighted to announce the formation of a new company, Thames Valley Investment Advisers Ltd., trading as Thames Valley Investments.

After ten years of trading as two offices of Wise Investment in Chipping Norton and Berkshire, it has been decided to separate into two independent trading companies, located in Chipping Norton and Crowthorne.  This is an amicable decision that will allow both companies to pursue different strategic directions.

The Chipping Norton office of Wise Investment will continue to trade as Wise Investment.

If you are a client of the investment advisers in the Chipping Norton office, you will not be affected by this change.

The Berkshire branch office of Wise Investment (based in Crowthorne), the investment advisers and adviser support staff have all become Thames Valley Investment Advisers Ltd., trading as Thames Valley Investments.

Clients of the Berkshire branch office of Wise Investment will be contacted directly over the next 6 months.

About Thames Valley Investments

The Thames Valley Investment Advisers are:

David Stephenson

David advises on all aspects of investment management and financial planning, and specialises in managing the Designated Investment portfolios.  David’s qualifications include the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning and the Diploma in Investment Management.

David Stephenson was a director of Ager Financial Ltd., formed in 1994, and then merged in 2004 to form Wise Investments Ltd.  Thames Valley Investments has now been formed from the separation of the two offices of Wise Investments Ltd. into two separate trading companies.

Tim Cole

Tim advises on all aspects of investment management and financial planning.  Tim’s qualifications include the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning, and he is a Chartered Financial Planner.

Previously Tim was an investment adviser for the Berkshire office of Wise Investments Ltd., and has spent the last twenty years as a financial adviser.  Tim has built up a practice advising police officers at all levels of seniority on their financial planning, mainly in the areas of retirement and investment.

What happens next?

All Wise Investment Berkshire office clients will receive a letter from Thames Valley Investments asking you to sign a Thames Valley Client Agreement.  Wise Investment strongly encourage David and Tim's clients to sign up to Thames Valley Investments in order that you continue to receive the level of local support and service that you have previously received from the Wise Berkshire office.

For the next six months, David and Tim will continue to support Wise Investment Berkshire office clients and will encourage you to sign up to Thames Valley Investment Client Agreements.  At the end of this six month period, David and Tim will no longer provide Investment Management or advice to any Wise Investment Berkshire office client that has not signed a Thames Valley Investment Client Agreement.

Any client who does not sign up to Thames Valley Investments will remain a Wise Investment – Chipping Norton client, however, there will be no Wise Investment office presence in the Thames Valley.

Designated Portfolios

Thames Valley Investments will continue to offer designated portfolio services, managed by David Stephenson, who currently manages the Wise Designated Portfolios.  These will be re-branded ‘TVI Designated Portfolios’.  Any client currently in a Wise Designated Portfolio who signs a Thames Valley Investments Client Agreement will continue to receive discretionary management of investments in portfolios under the TVI Designated Portfolios.

To continue to take advantage of the Designated Portfolios under David’s steerage Wise Investment encourages you to sign up to a Thames Valley Investment Client Agreement.

TB Wise Strategic Fund

Wise Investment confirms that the TB Wise Strategic Fund will continue to be managed by David Stephenson as an authorised investment manager to the Wise Funds.

There is no requirement for any Wise Investment Berkshire office client who has money invested in the TB Wise Strategic Fund to move their money out of the fund, even if they sign up to a Thames Valley Investment Client Agreement.

Wise Investment is pleased to have signed a five year individual contract with David Stephenson for him to continue to manage the TB Wise Strategic Fund for at least this time. Accordingly the Fund will continue to receive the management steerage that has seen it outperform its benchmark over the past five years.

The Future

The separation will afford each office increased focus on its own clients’ needs. We look forward to carrying on our professional relationships with you.
